April 18, 2018 | Leave a comment The Old Post Road Orchestra would like to announce its Spring Concert – “Let’s Dance”—to take place at Minnechaug Regional High School at 621 Main Street Wilbraham, MA on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 7:30pm. Highlights of the program will include Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances,” Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No.5,” Elgar’s “Sevillana,” Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz from Swan Lake,” and Grieg’s “Norwegian Dances.” This concert will feature OPRO musicians: Amy Foerster, violin, and Jim Gustafson, viola, on the “Concertante” by Mozart. Two student soloists will also be featured: Kayden Behan from the Springfield Community Music School playing a Vivaldi lute concerto, and Logan Mitchell from Minnechaug Regional High School performing Cécile Chaminade’s, “Concertino for flute.” Come join us to celebrate spring and to enjoy the program: “Let’s Dance” This concert is sponsored by Country Bank for Savings. “OPRO is an active volunteer community orchestra dedicated to continuing its musical contributions to enrich the cultural vitality of Western Massachusetts.
