Our mission is to provide quality symphonic music at convenient locations in and around Western Massachusetts, and to offer people of all ages the opportunity to play their instruments in a friendly, community based orchestra.
Musicians ranging in age from teenagers to octogenarians gather from 28 towns and cities across the Western Massachusetts area to share their love of music with the community. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Soule Road Elementary School, 300 Soule Road, Wilbraham, MA from Labor Day through Summer of 2023. We welcome high school students, local college students, and adults seeking an outlet for their musical talents in an encouraging and supportive setting. We welcome all string players. Please visit the “Join Us” page for information on how to become an Old Post Road Orchestra musician.
OPRO plays a variety of orchestral music from classical to pops. We prepare five programs each year: a fall concert, a holiday concert, a spring concert showcasing a local music student soloist, a family-friendly spring concert, and a summer pops concert. Each program may be performed multiple times in different community locations so we can provide concertgoers convenient access to orchestra music. Visit the “Coming Performances” page to find the concert nearest you.
